I'm Glad I Did Not Apply at Starbucks
I've recently been working as a freelance engineer at a very nice studio complex in Dallas. The complex contains three unique studios with every type of gear imaginable. Most of the projects I have been working on have been last minute and low budget. Half of the clients have either been high on the wacky weed or failed to show up altogether. But, I showed up each time and have apparently earned the respect of the studio owners.
Last week a session was booked by a group called "The Ten Tenors." I believe they are based out of Australia. I had never heard of them before, but apparently their last album went platinum (For those of you who don't know, platinum is equal to 999,925 plus the amount of CD's I sold last Christmas). All of the staff engineers were booked for Monday and Tuesday, so I got the call. Unfortunately, on Monday everything that could go wrong went wrong . Luckily, Tuesday turned out better.
Simon Frangler is the producer of the project. He was flown in from London to work with the guys while they stay in Dallas for a week of performances at the Majestic Theater in downtown. I just now "googled" Simon and found his discography. It was quite extensive. Apparently he produced a little ditty by Celine Deion called "My Heart Will Go On." Perhaps you've heard of it? He also produced the soundtrack for Moulin Rouge. Songs he has played keys on include "Unbreak My Heart" by Toni Braxton, "Change Your World" by Eric Clapton, and "The Bodyguard Soundtrack" by Whitney Houston. Movies he played keys on include Crash, Mission Impossible, Contact, Seven, The Client, and Ransom. He also played on two lesser known indie films, Dances With Wolves and Titanic. Not Bad.
He's the guy on the right.

That is pretty sweet.
Do the Ten Tenors need an eleventh?
I think there are twelve of them.
It's how funny how British people can say "lovely" without sounding gay. Australian's say "cheers" instead of thanks. I need to incorporate that one more often. I probably will not be using "lovely."
You sold 75 copies? Sweet (in Napoleon Dynamite voice).
My Heart Will Go On? Celine Dion? I have never heard of this human. Titanic? What are you speaking of?
Bill V, Titanic is the amount of money Celine made singing that song!
