Point and click, crop in iPhoto. God took care of the lighting.
I highly recommend the Canon Powershot Digital Elph series. I take it everywhere (except when it was "lost" underneath the cushions of my couch). I have access to a nicer camera, but it's not near as convenient.

Hey those pictures came out great. We were so lucky to catch the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset. My favorite is "People with AIDS Plaza." I was definitely not with you when you took that one. Since you were on that street...does that mean you got it? Billy V's a doctor, maybe he can check.
